From an article in WEBMD HEALTH:   ....Several companies, including Quest Diagnostics,   and www.HealthCheckUSA.com , allow consumers to go to their web sites and choose from practically every medicdal test availiable.  The availiable tests include screenings for cholesterol levels, diabetes, herpes, colon cancer, prostate cancer and a slew of other conditions.   The consumer never has to be evaluated by a physician and the testing companies do not make Doctors availiable to discuss results.  The testing companies use the same labs the Doctors and hospitals use.  This means the labs are certified and government regulated.  Consumer groups do not appear concerned with the issue.  The reality is that a lot of people who cannot afford to go to the doctor can at least get screened/tested  and the uninsured can get tests that their doctor could not provide.  TAKE A LOOK AT THESE SITES,  JUST HIT THE LINKS IN BLUE---THIS IS THE NEW WORLD---LOVE IT.
